Creating a plan for our Mental Health Service

Beginning on Monday the 22 May 2017 Bernie and  David  led our group  for three days to The Red Cow Hotel for the workshops and 3 days further days to the Osprey in Naas.

The Service Reform Fund ( SRF) Was set up by the HSE and Genio to provide funds over a three year period to support reform within mental health. The aim is to support  change within mental health services, within existing resources  to become more Person centred  and recovery focused. Priority

areas identified by the SRF are:

Advancing Recovery, Community Living / Homelessness and Employment.

And more person centred and recovery focused.

Who was involved ?

  • Service users
  • Family members or supporters
  • HSE mental health staff
  • Community agencies

The workshop discussions were too indebt to cover in this short report.

Suffice to say the workshop was very encouraging, I was impressed to see how many people showed concern for services users. The full results of the workshop will be available in two weeks on Monday the 26th June in the Red Cow.
